With JOSEPHS, Fraunhofer IIS and the chair Wi1 of Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) established a home for innovation and co-creation in the Nuremberg metropolitan region. As with many other topics, digitization plays an increasingly important role in innovation management nowadays. For this reason, the entire JOSEPHS community was very delighted with the visit of the Bavarian State Minister for Digital Affairs Judith Gerlach today. Mrs. Gerlach was welcomed by Prof. Dr. Albert Heuberger, managing director of Fraunhofer IIS, and Prof. Dr. Kathrin M. Möslein Wi1 chair holder and Vice President Outreach of FAU and received a short introduction to the success story of JOSEPHS. In the further course of the event Wi1 members Sascha Julian Oks and Max Jalowski pitched FAU research-based digitization solutions and in particular the Industry 4.0 demonstrator PID4CPS. Many thanks to Melanie Oßwald of Fraunhofer IIS and Wi1 for organizing and Dr. Benedikt Höckmayr and Dr. Christofer Daiberl for hosting this great event which was another example of the excellent cooperation between the innovation drivers of the region supported by the Free State of Bavaria.
