Wi1 at ECIS 2016 in Istanbul
The 24th European Conference on Information Systems was held for the first time in Istanbul, Turkey. The beautiful Boğaziçi University beside the Bosphorus hosted the conference, which focused on the theme of “Information Systems as a Global Gateway”. The theme of this top conference in our field reflected connections that information systems make, just as the conference location has linked peoples, cultures and civilizations over several millennia, as the gateway between Europe and the Middle East and Asia. Wi1 was represented by Hari Naik, who presented a paper on “Simplifying Solution Space” of 3D printing toolkits that enable users to innovate and design. He also chaired the session on the “Openness and IT” track, which presented latest research on Information Systems related to Open Innovation and contained some engaging discussions. The complete conference program and papers are available here.
