The 18th International Conference on Human-Computer Interaction took place in Toronto this year, with parallel sessions, poster sessions and an exhibition covering a diverse set of topics. Wi1’s Hari Naik presented a paper on “Social Media in User Entrepreneurship”, which was part of the session on making social media meaningful. The proceedings of this session are published as Volume 9742, titled “Social Computing and Social Media” of the series, Lecture Notes in Computer Science. The paper draws upon six cases on user entrepreneurial firms, and explores how user entrepreneurial firms use social media, highlighting firm resources associated with social media that can give them a competitive advantage.
