Matthias Förster
Matthias Förster, M. Sc.
Matthias Förster graduated from the Munich University of Applied Sciences with a Master of Science in Business Innovation and Management Consulting in 2016. Prior to this, he received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the Munich University of Applied Sciences.
Since 2016 he is employed at BMW Group in Munich where he analyses, models and simulates data-driven business models. His research is about “the value of data”, more precisely the realization of value from data through data-focused business model innovation. In his research he examines the role of data in business models and works on making their dynamic impacts on the business model controllable and manageable in order to achieve the highest possible business model success as well as monetization potential of data. He uses qualitative as well as quantitative research methods.
He gained practical experience in various small and large companies such as BMW Group, EOS GmbH, ADVA Optical Networking SE and [Bu:st] GmbH. Moreover, he carried out several consulting projects in the field of business development as a member of the student consulting groups Brainnovative Consulting and Munich Student Consultants.
The title of his dissertation is: Understanding Value Realization from Data. A Data-Driven Business Model Perspective
