Stefan Genennig received the Master of Science in Management (M.Sc.) from the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg in 2015.

During his studies, he spent exchange semesters at the Södertörns Högskola in Stockholm, Sweden, and at the UIBE in Beijing, China. He gained practical experience during several national and international internships and working student positions with firms like Siemens Healthcare and the Sportfive Team at 1. FC Nürnberg. Furthermore, he supported Wi1 as a student assistant. He also was an active member of MTP e.V. for many years and served as chairmen of MTP Nuremberg. Before his studies, he went to school at the Musikgymnasium der Regensburger Domspatzen and did an apprenticeship as a banker.

His research and teaching focus on innovation in service systems. The research activities are orientated towards the questions of how digitization is changing and how technology is enabling service innovation in service systems.

The title of his dissertation is: Realizing Digitization-Enabled Innovation – A Service Systems Perspective for Management.
